With Edward Gorey's return to Chicago at the Loyola Museum University of Art, we wanted to pay tribute to the influence he has had on so many artists across all disciplines. Ask any who seek to play in the morbid or macabre, and you'll find a fan of Gorey - whether his tongue-in-cheek introduction to PBS's Mystery! or the delightfully cruel deaths of 26 unsuspecting children in The Gashleycrumb Tinies.

Below, you'll find fiction, poetry and image that speak to Gorey's wide influence on our imaginations. We hope you enjoy!
